Centro Histórico and the Plaza Mayor

Most of the streets in the City Center were absolutely heaving, but not just 'cause it's Saturday - according to my Uber driver, it's always packed.  I thought I had seen crowded streets before, but these take the prize -- enough that I kept my hand on my wallet.

Chinatown is there, thus the arch:

Cool-looking overhanging thingies -- pretty common:

The Plaza Mayor is a block square, surrounded by historical buildings whose names I've forgotten, and you don't care anyway :)

Finally, after hours of wandering around, I was hot and tired and it was time to Uber home.  The problem?  Almost all the area around the Plaza Mayor is pedestrianized, and I kept going in circles trying to find an actual street.  Then, to my added annoyance, I got cut off by not one but two parades!

In the end it took about 1-1/2 hours to get back to the AirBnB.  A minor glitch in the whole travel adventure, but still.
