Malecón

 Most of Lima is pretty flat, but just as you get to the ocean, there's a precipitous drop of some 50 meters to the (non-swimming) beach and the water:


You can,get down to the beach (I didn't) but it's a pretty long walk.  This is just part of it:


For about 10km along the top of the cliff is the "Malecón," a series of connected walkways and parks, with spectacular ocean views:


Fitting for the Parque del Amor, no translation needed!





No I didn't walk all 10km, but that just leaves more for next time!

The posh highrises overlooking the sea have some fab plantings, like this:
