Street Snacks

I recognized 'trigo' as 'wheat' but didn't know what else to expect.  Turns out it's sweetened, puffed wheat -- like cereal without the milk (45 cents).  The 'ear' is exactly what you'd expect - yum! ($1)

"Choclo con queso" was exactly that, a cob of gigantic Peruvian corn and a hunk of fresh cheese.  Pretty good. ($1.50)

Not sure what 'quinua' was going to be, but it's a breakfast drink, quinoa boiled in apple juice and spices.  Pretty thick and filling, but not sure I'd have it again (60 cents).

Finally a churro stand.  Filled with 'manjar,' (like dulce de leche) and rolled in sugar, this was delicious, if a bit less crispy than I expected (it may have been sitting around for a while).  75 cents, my dessert after another snack, a beef empanada ($1.75)

(Later: found this more traditional churro, nice 'n' crispy, 75 cents.)

'Papas y huevos' is exactly that, (boiled) potatoes and (hard-boiled) eggs.  Pretty bland, eh?

But then there's the delicious ají (yellow pepper) sauce, which makes them yum:
