In da hood (graffiti +)

This is pretty much the perfect neighborhood, residential and quiet, but with loads of little shops and restaurants.  And graffiti/street art everywhere.  So much that on my ramblings I'm often stopped by, "whoa, that needs a pic!"

There are some lovely colonial buildings:

And -- gotta love the quirkiness -- the Chinese gate leading to the Lung-Tu restaurant.

Sweet pic painted on the metal shutter of a veterinarian's:

Just a block or two down the avenida . . .

. . . is another lovely park.

After all the ballyhoo, I couldn't NOT go to Lung Tu.  But there's a reason restaurants are empty. (To be fair, it was *mandatory* election day, so maybe the Santigueños weren't interested in going out more).

At the recommendation of the server, I ordered the seafood platter, ginormous.

It was okay, and I got through one plate.  The seafood was far from fresh, obviously from frozen, but I expected that.  The greater sin is that the sauce tasted meh at best.

On the upside of $39 I have two more meals of meh leftovers!
